Most renovations lose their way in the gap between designer and builder. We close that gap. Plans, palettes, joinery, and material schedules — done by the same hand that runs the site.
The conventional model splits design from construction: a designer specifies, a contractor builds, and the client mediates the conflict. We don't work that way. Interior design at Pistis is a service of the practice, not a separate discipline — produced by the same studio that will sequence the trades and stand by the result.
What we handle
Concept & layout
Floor plans, elevations, reflected ceilings. We work in measured drawings, not mood boards, and produce them in a tempo your project can actually use.
Material schedules
Stone, tile, hardwood, paint, plaster, hardware, plumbing, lighting — specified, costed, and ordered with lead times mapped against the build schedule.
Custom millwork design
Kitchens, vanities, libraries, panelling, dressing rooms. Drawn in the studio, made by our finisher, installed by our crew.
Lighting design
Layered light: ambient, task, accent, decorative. We specify fixtures and lay out circuits so the electrician installs against a plan, not a guess.
Furniture & soft-goods curation
Sourcing through Toronto and international showrooms, vintage dealers, and our own commissioned pieces. Always optional, never required.
Notes from the GTA
- We work with both new clients and clients carrying an existing designer's drawings; if a designer is already engaged, we coordinate rather than replace.
- Material lead times in the GTA can be punishing — stone slabs 4–6 weeks, custom plumbing 8–12, certain European fixtures 16+. We plan against published lead times, not optimism.
- Our design fees are billed transparently — hourly for concept work, fixed for documentation packages — and never folded into trade markups.
Design that survives construction is design done by the people doing the construction.
